Christ Church: In 1816 the Church Missionary Society bought the land between Bijoy Toron and the head post office from the then king at Rs 12.50 per annum as revenue. The principal organizer was captain Charles Stuart who was an officer of the East India Company. This church made of bricks is a wonderful instance of European architecture.

Sikh Gurudwara: In the sixteenth century, Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion, stayed for some days near Gargara Ghat at Shyambazer. Later a Gurudwara was set up at that place by the name of Guru Nanak Charankamal. At present the main Gurudwara which is situated on the G.T. Road near the municipality was founded by a civil surgeon Lieutenant Colonel Baba Harikishan Singh. The building was constructed between 1930-1935. Lt. Singh set up this Gurudwara in memory of his parents.

Sanskriti Lokomancha: Sanskriti Lokimanch standing on approximately more than one acre of land, is an auditorium consisting of 1400 seats and made in aid of modern architecture, sound and light arrangements. This building was inaugurated on Nov 7, 1993. During the period of company rule gunpowder was stocked at this place. Besides showing the films of Bardhaman Chalachitra Charcha Kendra, this auditorium exhibits good films regularly from 1 pm. Besides these different types of cultural functions and discussions occur here. This is a joint venture of district administration, Zilla Parishad and Municipality. The 200 years old graveyard is located at some distance from this place.

The Deer Park
: Another charm of Bardhaman is this deer park. A number of deers, birds and two tigers are the main attractions of this reserve forest. After visiting Golapbagh you must have to come here to spend some time in nature’s bosom. ‘Bijoybahar’ (the grave of Bijoy Chand Mahatab) is located at the one end of this forest. You can spend a comfortable night at the guest house here according to previous arrangements.
